Sunday February 3rd. Club ride to the California Oil Museum. (with a
surprise)
As it turns out February had a couple of surprise's and the weather turned
out to be a little colder then normal.
The month started out with our club ride making a last minute change in our
destination. We got a invite to go to the Mike Taggart/Guy Webster
combined collection in Ojai. It was their grand opening for the museum
collection.
The weather was absolutely beautiful that day with a huge turn out at
their new Museum. Housed in a small industrial park in downtown Ojai.
So after the usual breakfast meeting at Denny's, we took a quick show of
hands as to where we wanted to go, and the collection was voted as the place we
all wanted to see. We met up with the Norton club at their usual hang out
in Moor Park and then took the back roads to Ojai. As a matter of
coincidence, we ended up passing the original destination, the California
Oil Museum on the way up to Ojai. You can view pictures taken on that ride

In attendance were, Doug Bingham, Russ Smith, Mike Smith, Peter Dean and
friends, Bill Zabala, Larry Grenville and myself.
After viewing all the neat cars and bikes both in the museum and in the
parking lot, we decided to head out to Ventura harbor for everybody's
favorite "Fish and Chips". Tummies full we walked around the harbor
a bit and then headed
home. All and all, a good time spent in the company of good friends. Many
thanks to Brian Tinkler for the excellent pictures taken that day.
